Forget contacting your ISP as its not their issue. Id suggest a few things:1) Firstly, always check for new firmware for the router, as someone mentioned. Also google your router model number and the word 'ping' to see if others have similar problem2) Run any such ping tests sitting very close to the router to rule out things like interference from thick walls. 3) If you have anything else running at 2.4GHz like some cordless phones or audio/video sending units turn them off while you test. If still no luck, can you plug your PC into the router with a network cable? If so, do that and try your ping...if it works you can determine the wireless part is the issue. if it doesnt, the common parts of the router are a problem If its still stuffed, turn off any encryption you have turned on, so its a nice simple packet being sent.If no luck, do a hard reset and re-do all configurations of the router. Their website should have the hard reset method on it somewhere. You can see in your ping results that sometimes before failure the ping response time is going through the roof, close to 1 second. Its avery strong sign that the router is either looping or otherwise struggling and not able to respond in a reasonable time. It is highly unlikely that you are able to send any kind of traffic over your network that could slow it down that much, unless its a mega, mega, mega crappy router. Its probably made to cope with switching multiple concurrent 100Mbps connections so I doubt you are using it to capacity - especially if its only used for surfing the net. Is there a pattern that it only really happens after the router has been on a while, or on hot days? Many router or ADSL chipsets run at silly temps and can malfucntion if they overheat. If the router feels really hot and only stuffs up after its been on a while, consider putting a fan to blow on it strongly and see if it makes a difference. If it does, its overheating, and you should be able to return it under warrantee. If it still doesnt work contact your router maker as it appears faulty. Organise an RMA number and send it back to get another. PS, if you are doing ping tests, let it run for ages to look for patterns. Rather than type ping 100 times simply typeping -t 10.1.1.1(or whatever IP address you want to ping) and it will ping forever until you stop it with control+d or by killing the command window.
