Thanks for the reply turbotrana.

I already have a high mount manifold so I just need to find a turbo to suit. I have sold my GT35r.

I havent seen proof that a t04z can support 500rwkw, do you have any links to give me something to read?

I would prefer the T04z to a larger size turbo for the spooling advantages but I want to make the power as well. From my reading the T04z only seems to outshine the GT3540 by 40-50 kw while taking 500rpm longer to come on boost. Which A/R would you recommend for the T04z on a BA motor?

The person who made my manifold is recommending a GT45R with a .84 rear A/R and expects it to boost by 2500rpm. I am waiting on more information so I can do some more research. He has only just started making them with GCG and they sold the first 1 this week so it may be a while before I see any actual results.

check out the website TO4R.com Its an old website but that's the TO4Z turbo prior to it going ball bearing. They have some good info comparing turbos from memory.

I'd go 0.82 on the street but 1.00 if you want it for dyno shootouts.

Dont just look at peak hp, its the average hp under the rev range you intend using which is most important IMO

Hay mate,

I was wondering What you did for a turbo manifold?

I am looking at turbing my EL fairmont and running a small cooler, with a microtech extra injector controlled ECU to save on money (sponsor gave me free turbo) and I can get microtech cheap and tune it myself.

So im just looking for a manifold, any idea guys?

cheers

talk to C&V Con did Gavin.K's N/A to Turbo conversion and its a killer, they would be able to back it down a bit so it dosn't cost as much, give them a call.

Is that on a pre BA motor?

on a turbo motor from factory 300rwklw is about the limit.

you can do it but unless you pull the motor down and freshin it up you will be on borrowed time.

what gearbox are you using??

5 speed manual will not hold that power.

4 speed auto will need to be built up to hold that power as well.

the magic 300rwklw mark is hard to get even in a turbo motor. but the good thign is there are alot of people doing it now so learn from them and you should be o.k

why are you going a autronic ecu??

I am currently running 275rwkw, with inj, exhaust, intake and chip. What else would I need to look at to get around 300kw at the rears you think? The Auto also has been upgraded.
