Posted 14/01/07 11:35 AM Share Posted 14/01/07 11:35 AM What a great day.....no other word to describe itGreat roads, people ,cars, nearly got pinched by the cops,Ok, I'll admit it...Im sure I was the one he turned around for....Rapid had just driven away from me going up through some hilly stuff and I come out on the straight and he's like waay down the road so I wound it up to about 150ks to catch up quick when radio goes "cop" and even though I got off it he still glared at me as he went past and hit his brakes. If Id been on my own, he'd have done me..no question...I think it was only because there was about 14 odd cars between us when he turned around in the end it was just all too hard and we got away with it...*lucky*Other than that little scare we had a top day...my wife enjoyed herself and her observational humour can be a crackup at times....... when we all slowed right down for the dirt section she says"looks like a group of old ladies hitching up their skirts to walk over a puddle" followed by "or a bunch of kids walking over a lawn covered in bindies"On an earlier occasion, we came off a ramp and accelerated up the hill,Jeff and Saleen pulled out and rocketed past then the F6 and a couple of XRs, after the Escort did the same thing we went from 3rd in the queue to 3rd last in the space of about 500mts and she turns to me and says "You know... you've really got to get an edit for this car!! Might be hooked me thinks..... Our thanks to all who helped make this deal the success it was and make us so welcome, this might have been our first cruise but it certainly wont be the last.. Our thanks to all who helped make this deal the success it was and make us so welcome, this might have been our first cruise but it certainly wont be the last.. ←Ahhh .... so it was you he was after? That's good 'cos Therese was sure he turned for me because I was chatting on the phone at the time (plus I was the odd car out so would be an easy target for him in an identity argument) - but it wasn't any big deal I thought - as someone said the lead few cars were only doing plus 20 or so LOL. Anyhow it's good to trust in the old axiom "safety in numbers." I'm sure that whoever or whatever he turned around for, it all became just too much of a hassle in the end so he caved. The Eski really enjoyed the day out - but poor ol' girl seriously needs a wheel alignment (which I didn't know until Saturday morning as I drove up to Sydney). She just didn't have her usual handling today I'm afraid. Thanks to all the guys for driving slow enough not to embarrass her - she did her best to keep up.Thanks Phil for organising the day and choosing the great route - just one thing though - next time try to find a road without any Commodes or Campervans LOL.Once again what a fantastic day with a fantastic bunch of people!!! I'm already booked for the next one.
mickey_gee Member 593 Member For: 20y 30d Gender: Male Location: Newcastle NSW Posted 14/01/07 08:54 PM Share Posted 14/01/07 08:54 PM As usual......WHAT A TOP BLOODY DAY!!!. First it was me and my girls on the bathurst cruise. Today the Boss, the young bloke and the little princess had their turn and now I can officially say the whole family are all hooked. They will now have to fight over who comes on the next one cause they wont all fit. Who ever borrowed my uniden handheld at the starting point, could you let me know who you are so I can keep tabs on who has it. No dramas, hold onto it till next cruise or if you wont be there PM me and we'll arrange to meet up and pick it up. I think it may have been one of the newcastle guys.Anyways cheers everyone, it was great meeting up with you and even better to have the missus say "you were right", "they are a great bunch of people, I had a really good day", that was music to my ears. Couple of more cruises and I might be able to convince her to let me play with my toy sooner than when the warranty runs out.←DanDAT40L has your uhf radio. You guys shot off too fast and we lost signal. I will remind him when I see him. Thanks for a good day all. Good to see the old faces again and meeting a few newbiesMG← Cheers Mickey! How was the jungle juice? ←honestly it was very port. then the what made it more complicated there was a menu for crappy port. wonder if the bottles come with a handle or if it could get optioned up with one..... Sign up for the next month's cruise honestly it was very port. then the what made it more complicated there was a menu for crappy port. wonder if the bottles come with a handle or if it could get optioned up with one..... ← Honestly I dont know whats in traditional jungle juice, but Im almost certain it has nothing to do with port. I think the original is like one of those pacific islands drinks. Remember as a young bloke seeing rellies downing it and ending up shattered. Im sure I speak for the others when I say I was damn proud to have eski along for the cruise. She did ya proud. I Remember looking back at one stage expecting to see a T and here's little eski behind me, hot on my tail. Allways knew she was close by, by the squeel of those little tyres that could Hopefully my T will be just as surprising I 30 odd years time AWESOME Vid Rap1d!!! Well done. We have to have a talk about that bracket system, that worked extremely well.
