Hey Guys.

Specs as follows:

> K&N POD Filter

> Herrod extractors (Pacemaker)

> Herrod Mild Steel Full Exhaust 2 3/4" (Redback)

> Herrod Sureshift

> Nizpro Intake Manifold

> Nizpro Fuel regulator

> Nizpro Valve Springs

> Nizpro CAMS

> NizEdit Tune (CAPA)

The Red curve is my resulting figure. The blue curve is where Simon Gishus of NIZPRO believed that he didn't like the exhaust package and removed everything apart from the extractors (the exhaust system). The result was about 10rwkw. I guess it shows the exhaust is a bit restrictive. but 190rwkw... I'm happy.... For the time being.... :stirthepot:

My Mods are as is my sig.

post-10442-1167491525_thumb.jpg

The grey line (151.3rwkw) is what I had before my first tune.

I had the pacemakers, factory cat, 2.5" redback exhaust, Typhoon intake and generic tunes. My first time racing PB was 15.1848 @ 91.74mph then.

The purple line (160.1rwkw) is the result of my first tune, picked up heaps of low down torque but had a restriction at 120kph. My new PB became 14.90 @ 93.01mph.

The blue line (176.6rwkw) is straight after installing the metal cat, the restriction at 120kph is gone and it allowed for better tweaking. My current PB is 14.73 @ 97.02mph.

Heres some of the results form 2006, It's been a year of ups and downs for my car as you will see.

This is 177.2rwkw @ Nizpro on the 21/2/2006, a very happy day.

post-4521-1167524351_thumb.jpg

This was a month or two later at a very large car show out western Syd. Sorry about the Hp not Kw Dyno Comps every one wants the "Big Numbers"

So waiting to see 177rwkw off Nos I got 164rwkw some 220 odd rwhp and 13rwkw down for my Nizpro tune off Nos. Questions rain.

post-4521-1167524644_thumb.jpg

Questions about the tune are dismissed, but to me 13rwkw down feels very dark.

So about July some time I think it was off to the Falcon Tickford FPV Club of NSW first Dyno day at Autotech with old friend Spiro.

Now some may ask why didn't Spiro do you tune to start with he's less than one hour from you not 8 and you know him, well and that's a good question, one that Spiro may be asking as well.

You see I respect Spiro and what he and his guys do very much and I like knowing that from time to time my car will be back under his control up on his rollers. In the wash up Spiro will giving me the truth about how its running and what going on with it.

Sad to say if I use he's very good services that would make me a paying customer and he may not have the hash eye over my tunes that he may otherwise.

Not saying that Spiro tells stories about other tuners and their work, just that I value very highly "the truth" that comes from my dealings with Spiro and from what I hear around town every one Customer or not feels the same way.

post-4521-1167525692_thumb.jpg

Heres the results from Autotech, as you can see it ran some 157rwkw off Nos 20rwkw short on Nizpro, AND I SMELL A TUNE RAT????????

Spiro said nothing I'll repeat here about the tunes, but since a close friend of mine has an Autotech custom tune and CAI and ran 155.7rwkw only 5min after me, you get an idea of thing that may have been said that day.

It boils down to this, you don't get 1 rwkw from full exhaust, headers, ram air pod, 75mm TB the rest.

Like I said I SMELL A TUNE RAT.

Some thing I forgot was the car was playing up bad in the weeks coming up to the dyno comp at Spiro's. 20min to warm up the car before driving it cos it'd stall and bing its ass off and the blue smoke onder load. Dark days guys very dark days.

Heres the thing tuners arn't the ones who have to put up with your other half going off her tits when she can't drive the car and when you tell them not to drive it till its fixed put it this way sex what sex, theres more on the line for some of us than our cars.

So after talking with Nizpro, I was ready for the drive south again, then good news Tune House was now in bed with Nizpro, a Sydney workshop with ties to Nizpro, all my XMass all at once. Now I didn't have to drive to Nizpro with a car that was over LEEEEEAN.

Drive out to Tune house in Oct book in and wait for 4 weeks, take a day off in Nov and be told sorry we are doing reno's come back and book in in another 4 weeks.

still no sex.

So smartest thing I did since installing Nos with the best around, go back to them. Con at C&V took me in like a long lost child. Con wrote over P3 the fuel saving tune and heres the results.

post-4521-1167528260_thumb.jpg

So as many here will know Con's Dyno reads a touch lower than most around Sydney 151rwkw Cons starting point and after playing with the timing and pushing the cams forward a bit 165.2wrkw. A gain of 14rwkw, more power from top to bottom more Nm and a return to turn key and drive away driving and after a long wait even the wifes happy again. What can I say Con your the man.

Im off to see Con and Vic on the 5th of Jan for the Under Drives and an up grade to the Pace Maker Comp's 4495 plus a short shift. I expect a lift in power with these new parts, how much I don't know.

Final results to date, well I look at it like this add the new 14rwkw (thanks Con) to my last numbers at Autotech.

14 rwkw + 157 rwkw = 171 rwkw, just need a run to back this now.

Sorry to all that read this and think I may be bitch'en at some tuners again.

Hey Daniel,

I didn't know you could get a 2.75" redback exhaust, I thought you had to go to 3", I would have gone for that if I had known. Interesting though I would have thought that power would be down without the exhaust fitted. If it were my car I would be upgrading the exhaust to a single 3" or a twin 2.5" Turbo exhaust as it appears that the exhaust is a restriction.

Hey NOS XR,

Sounds like you have been a victim of a 'happy' dyno at Nizpro. I have only heard really good things about Spiro, if I was in Sydney I would be taking my car to him.

Good tuners are the ones that are upfront and don't try and piss in your pocket to get you to spend more money.

I am a Bluepower customer and very happy with the service and personal care that Chris gives me. He has an honest dyno and I think my track times back up the dyno results.

Cheers,

Doug

P.S. I hope your getting lots of sex now, if the car running properly has an effect on how much sex you get, I am surprised you haven't ordered a supercharger kit yet. :spoton:

Hey Al,

I didn't know you frequented here, I just joined a little while ago, nice to see a familar face (as it were). Have you got your new clutch yet? I bet you can't wait to take her to the track in some better weather, you will be in the 14's for sure.

Cheers,

Doug

I found this forum after the fordmods one then moved to AFF.

I got the clutch in, the clutch is one that spiro supplied and fitted. You can tell it has alot more grab when u take off in first, makes the engine bog down for a split second.

I'll be going out to WSID probaly in a month or two and see how it goes.
