For those that missed it, there were 4 passes made in the 4.5 secs zone, with a best of 4.51 secs by Scott Kalitta in the Santo Rapisarda car. He also set the Australian National Speed record at 332.84 mph (that's over 535 kph :msm: )

Phil read ran the first 4.5 earlier in qualifying. It would have to be one of the best race meets that I have been to although the spectator entry was a bit pricey at $50 a head for each day. - Made it worthwhile being an entrant though.

I picked up over 2 tenths for the current engine combo (10.15 secs @ 129.8 mph) with a best 60 ft for the car of 1.37. Lost in the 1st round though :crybaby:

Well, probably a bit like flying from Sydney to LA, arriving before you even take off :bum::msm:

damnn, I remeber first goin to the drags and the fuelers were runninf 5.99 and that was quick. sure, it was over 15 years ago but wow. any utube links? this starting to get on par with the yanks, they running low 4.40's, 4.43 or something like that.

also remember that 2 years ago they reduced the nitromethane % to try and slow them down cos they were deemed too fast but again they are breaking old records.
