I went into a local suspension shop and they said that compressing the springs is illegal and dangerous, but were quite willing to cut the springs for me :spoton: said they'd do the rear for $100... I wouldn't mind the rear end sitting about half an inch or so lower.

that's what I thought too.. he said that by compressing them it can cause them to get weak due to the heat.. said cutting them properly doesn't cause any problems. got me beat!

The place that conpressing my springs today told me cuting the springs

are illegal and if not cut correctly they will cause problems.

he didnt tell me by conpressing the springs it was illegal or anything

so I guest it ok.

he also showed me what machine he useing to conpress the

springs and it not as simple as "heat them up and conpress them"

that the basic it take time to get them correctly even and alot of

sweat.

I wouldnt reckonmaned cutting springs as it wouldnt be safe and it just dodgey lol

yeah I dunno.. I usually shop around so I'll go to 3 or 4 more shops and see what the general consensus is regarding cutting/compressing then I'll decide. Mind you, I had to take the beast down a dirt track on my mates farm over new years and the scraping was pretty bad.. so perhaps I'll leave it yet.
