Hi there,

I have a BF XR6 without premium sound and I heard that there are ways around getting the system installed - but at a hefty price!!

Does anyone know about places that do this in Adelaide, SA and for a cheaper price????

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers

Lauren

Everything is possible, but this is most likely not easy to do, nor will it be cheap!!

It depends on the version of wiring in your car, and aside from having to get a different ICC, the premium system use an amplifier in the boot, and your car may not be wired for this.

You may also not have the wiring for the sub-woofer in the boot and the tweeters in the 'A' pillar, so this is not something easily done, and probably not cheap in any case.

SOrry for the bad news :spoton:

It would probably be easier, and a lot better in the end to install an arftermarket system. I've seen some very neat installations of aftermarket head-units in the existing dash slots. I think I've seen them in this forum too, so have a search around. Sure, the premium sound system is better than the standard one, but whether it deserves the title 'premium' is questionable. Even a basic setup from say, Alpine, would top it.

Hi Lauren,

What exactly are you looking for?

Do you want the extra speakers, sub etc? Or just the colour ICC? Or both?

Mate, just do what I did.

I installed aftermarket tweeters, JBl Sub in the rear parcel shelf, 6x9s in the bak and aftermarket 5x7's in my front.

I recently bought an Premium Sound Colour TFT Screen and I now have all the attributes that Premium sound requires.

Actually it sounds heaps better then the Factory Premium Sound.:spoton:

Another bonus is that its more cost effective then the genuine setup and "the quality" just kicks a#s over the factory setup.

cheers,

San
