Hi Guys

My stereo decided to stop working yesterday. Well everything is working fine except the main 4 speakers. The head unit is fine, the sub is working and the amp seems to be too. I have checked all the fuses and none are blown and fiddled with the wiring a little to see if it would work. Then tonight it started working again fine for about 1 minute and then the main 4 speakers cut off again and I can still hear the sub.

Any help would be great.

Anthony

Im assuming that you have no sound through the main speakers on all inputs (radio, cd, aux input etc)?

if this is the case, have you had your ICC out recently? It sounds like one of the big plugs under the ICC that has all the speaker wires on it has worked its way loose. you need to pull the tissue box holder out to check and make sure that all the plugs are clicked into there sockets.

If that's not the problem then it may be the output stage of the amp shutting down due to heat or it got too hot recently and died.

Yeah, I haven't touched the ICC at all, but will check the wires behind it. Its been working fine again today and seems to be either working or not. There is no crackle or anything. The amp doesn't seem hot or anything and all the fuses are ok.

Will check trhe wires behind.

By the way, I will be getting an ipod for Chrissy (I saw Santa coming down the chimney with it) and I will need one of your special noise shut upering box thingys. Let me know how much and the best way to send some cash through, oh and how to fit it.

Thanks

Anthony
