I have seen these lowered noisey cars with massive sterios crusing with 5 people in the car with the driver leaning back. The car screams LOOK AT ME, so the cops will look at them. Then they will usually get some lip from the driver about why he is being hasseled and so the cops will throw the book at them.Yes there are a few cops with a chip on their shoulder, but after pulling over 100 cars and getting abuse form 50%, you would too.If you have a car with a loud exhaust, big sterio that you have up loud and lowered, you are asking for attention, so there should be no complaints when attention is given. Fat-Tony Member 5,364 Member For: 19y 1m 29d Posted 22/12/06 11:49 PM Share Posted 22/12/06 11:49 PM Mal, its Adam to begin with not Tony LOLL, Yes I believe the wankers you are talking about above deserve what they get, but you are placing a sterotypical view on every driver that is hassled in a situation like this. Keep this situation in mind. Im out one night with a mate who has a r32 skyline gtr, this car is pretty close to stock apart from a nice quiet aftermarket exhaust lowered on 17 inch rims. We go to maccas to get something to eat, im following in my T at the time, we pull in normally, no stereo blasting ect, not being fwits, the fuzz is sitting there waits for us to park, come over go over his car, we give no lip at all considering the attitude of the police was a suprise, and he ends up with a canary because his car was 5mm below min road clearance. Was he asking for it? The car come from Japan like that and was RWC and reg before he bought the car. These are the type of moronic police that deserve a bat to the head, and if you get Lip from 50% of the drivers and you get the sh*ts, DEAL WITH IT, its part of the job, if they don't like it and can't handle it go and find another profession. I have every confidence that my car will be exactly the same condition, and the ODO shouldnt have ticked over 1km as well. You get these impressions in your head that the cars get trashed etc when they get parked etc, but the copper reassured me, this was not the case. The lots run by non police members, but there is police watch at all times.Unsure if I am going to get some legal aid or represent myself, the cop is going to call me when the summons paperwork is ready, and he suggested I come in, and discuss it with him, what will happen on the day etc. very professional and helpful.Something I found real funny was that, he was telling me about this dude who had his car impounded, and when he went to pick it up, he dropped another one on his way out.. Lets just say that there was no towtruck costs in his $470 fine Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/31332-hoon-laws/page/3/#findComment-480103 Share on other sites

But if you were working at Myer right now, and an item in the dogologue is not available b4 xmas, do you quit your job knowing that you are going to get an earfull from every 2nd customer trying to find the said item?My brother in law is high up in the Vic Police, and he was the very reason I removed all stickers from my car. I am even contemplating going back to standard number plates. He said, that with the new hoon laws in place, the coppers with a chip on the shoulder, or a hate for performance cars, now have a reason to go after all the modded cars. If you slam your car and cover it with signage you are obviously saying, "LOOK AT ME". Since the removal of all my stickers, I have noticed a marked decrease in the stares from pedestrians and cops alike. Whilst I disagree with extra attention being focused on the perf. car scene, the police have a job to do and they have to do it. My mother doesn't tear away from the lights like me, so the cops have no reason to follow her, but if I give it WOT to the speed limit, the cops will believe there is a fair chance of me breaking it sooner or later and follow me. And as history tells, they have been right on most occasions. Since I am now riding my bike, I have noticed just how f.ucking STUPID some people are on the roads, and it has changed my attitude on how I will drive when I get my license back. I hope that makes sense, the kids interrupted me 4 times! boosted_sa Member 270 Member For: 19y 10m 1d Posted 23/12/06 02:06 AM Share Posted 23/12/06 02:06 AM I took off form the lights 2 weeks ago after a late shift (2am), gassed it, the car spun up pretty hard! unfortunatly the cops were just pulling up on a side street. I pulled over straight away befor the lights had even come on, I knew what would happen ( I did think to myself "I could just keep my foot down! they would never catch me" then came to my senses and copped it on the chin!). The cop was great, he asked me why I did it? I answered "because its a cold night and the car was going really well, also there wasn't anyone else on the road". He gave me a "Excessive Noise" fine ($108) not bad considering he said he could have charged me with "uncontrolled motor vechical" ($600 + $400 to get the car out of the impound).Treat the Cops with a little respect and they are normally pretty good! except 'Vic road Cops' they're not nice, EVA! You give them a mouthful and how do you expect them to react, well usually with a fist full of fines. It costs nothing to be nice and recognise your error and will ultimately save you somewhere down the line. Lifetime Members 7,935 Member For: 21y 3m 6d Gender: Male Location: Sydney Posted 23/12/06 02:46 AM Share Posted 23/12/06 02:46 AM Adam (Fat-Tony) I understand now why your mate is hasseled by the cops. He drives a skyline. The majority of Skyline/Import drivers now seem to be the biggest tools, they have made it bad for everyone. The reasons are:They seem to be stolen every other dayRegularly involved in fatal accidents and ram raidsThey usually have a P plated driver driving like a moronThis is why your mate is always getting harrassed.Being a member of the Skyline car club, I have been on many cruises and seen only the skylines get pulled over, yet I am waved through in my Falcon.Do the cops give you grief if you go into maccas in the Falcon ?
