Just in the process in doing it to my phoon. Had trouble in taking off the hose due to the clamp, but I just can't get it back on. Is it necessary for the clamp?

I just did this to my 03 XR6T and this is what I found with mine.....

1) Battery Terminals were 10mm spanner (as quoted)

2) Battery bracket was a 13mm spanner

3) There was no clamp on the black hose

4) The tube that the hose goes on was METAL and was very easy to take the hose off and on with my fingers.

5) Have'nt been for a drive yet, but before I thought my boost guage was sticking, and now when I rev up the motor in nuetral the guage is freely boosting up and down :spoton:

I found the same as 3 & 4 above.

Maybe there are different solenoids? the only clamp and plastic bit I found was on the bottom of the solenoid.

Anyone,

I can't seem to find it but I remember reading somewhere here that someone wrote to check/clean the "filter for the turbo"? as another maintenance job - just like cleaning the throttle body as well.

Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

Please advise?

Thanks.

P.S. I too have done the boost solenoid and the throttle body. Man, what a difference. Very happy....

:yikes: you dont need to remove the battery to lube the solenoid just the two intake pipes!!! and id do the turbo oil filter once the car woz relatively new and then every 20- 30000ks ,depending on service intervals... :stirthepot::spoton:

Got the inlet pipe off the solenoid, but the other end of that pipe came off as well. anyone know where it goes? Wastegate? Compressor housing? The bloody manual that I have doesn't even have a diagram of the piping, just the electrical connections.

I'm stuffed until I get it back on :spoton:
