Easy to do and I feel as though the car is revving more freely,

At first after I drove it it didnt seem any different, 2 days later took it for a good blat, and yeah I do feel the difference now.

Which hose goes to the actuator???? I refitted my turbo last night and my mate helping me decided to replace my vacume lines with new ones and didnt check which one went where?????

I did this today took about 20 mins because I took off the intercooler pipe and couldnt get that bloody clasp back on the bottom, got it in the end, I did notice it revved up at idle quicker and also a little more power from 3rd onwards (5sp manual), cheers guys

Just did this tonight. Used a good 5-10 seconds of WD40 up both the hose and into the tube which in my case was metal. I was expecting the shower of WD40 that spat back out to be dirty and black but it came out really clean. Anyway I put it all back together, started the car and let it idle for 5 mintues then took the car for a really good blast.

I wasn't really concerned with how it was coming on boost before, and I think it may have slightly improved how soon and how smoothly the car picks up as the turbo starts to kick in but I can't say it was an overly noticeable improvement. Thanks for the post though, I'll still keep this up every 10 thousand k's, can't hurt.

My tube was also metal. I didnt notice too much of a difference, although I have to agree, it did feel a lot smoother and seemed to rev alot easier, but again no real noticeable improvement in power.

hey guys, just tried this, was very easy to do when you move the overflow tank and undo the clip which the solarnoid is located on, had the metal crimp which came off and went back on easy enough with a bit of pressure. the boost seems to be smoother and more effortless, not that it was bad in the first place, worth doing as it is very quick and easy, seems people have had varied results but it worth a go

Hey guys,

saw this and thought I'd give it a go.

Managed to get it done without removing the battery (didn't want to disturb the alarm)... My car has about 40,000k's on it.

I hate to be 'that guy' but honestly I did not notice a difference, which now leads me to wonder that now I have sprayed WD-40

up its bum will it be needing this every 10,000k's as mentioned...?

WD-40 has a tendancy to hold (attract) dirt and sh*t where as originally it would pass by.

Did this on the weekend... Can't believe the difference, smooth'd out the power delivery and seems to pull a lot harder, however I also did the fuel filter (which was black) Funny as only 14 thou k's but had noticed a fair drop in power.

Did this the other day to my BA MKII. I unbolted the bracket from the mounting point without removing the battery. once the bracket was free I uncliped the solenoid from the bracket, careful not to pull on the hoses. a little encouragement with a screwdriver and voila!

This took me about 2minutes and 59 seconds

Another minute or so and the solenoid was back where it came from.

Very easy and worth the effort. My car feels a little smoother coming onto boost after doing this.
