ZAP No boost, no bottle, just my foot on the throttle! Lifetime Members 7,935 Member For: 20y 8m 27d Gender: Male Location: Sydney Posted 24/12/07 05:08 AM Author Share Posted 24/12/07 05:08 AM Grab the hose and pull it off.We all have the same clamps and the plastic hose has not ridge, so it slides off with a bit of a twist and pull.Believe me it does slide off and is easy to put back on. The pipe even came off the in turbo end!!!The bottom pipe came off & is now easy to come on & off which is a worry.RegardsTUFXRT6Tuf,it will come off as ive just finished my maintenance about 10 mins ago......... just pri it a little with a small flat screwdriver ( just dont pierce the hose ) and pull with a long nose pliers it will eventually come off.ive just left this message in my asking for advise thread and the first post in this thread is exactly what needs to be done.thanks again.......... the best description on how to do this !bit of a heads up.......guys its all fixed !looks like it was the solenoid sticking as a couple members have said. I followed the instruction on the solenoid maintenance thread and low and behold its fixed. no more surging and I have to say it feels even better than before. more responsive and quicker on the boost.suppose it had to be done after 100,000 of driving without a clean !thanks for the advice............ you guys are legends !Ern
wados Member 617 Member For: 20y 24d Gender: Male Location: brisbane Posted 25/12/07 09:51 PM Share Posted 25/12/07 09:51 PM had you driven it since wados? any comments regarding the difference??Sorry mate for the late reply superdan but was away on holidays. It mad a small difference but not to small that you dont notice it, The change is downlow with boost it comes on a little harder and also in an auto say your doing 60 and you give it a boot full then the boost comes on a little earlier and seems to pull a little harder just for a second or 2. Seems to pull more evenly from lower RPM (used to have a pronounced 'kick' at 3000rpm) and generally has a better response to generous application of the right foot.Great tip, thanks very much, looking forward to getting into the boosted community.
