In terms of hardware as compared to a gamming PC is excellent value for money, but obvoulsy a ps3 can only play games. do a google search on the E3 convention from 2006 when the PS3 was introduced by Sony, lots of vids to look at. I play a lot of online games and regularly upgrade my PC but the PS3 rocks. I will be getting one.LOL, the 8800 gtx has at least twice the power of the PS3 graphics unit sorry to tell you. I would say actually Killbot has the same issue as me. That is people making statements like "The ps3 has the best graphics ever" when this is simply not true. Killbot, myself and anyone else have no actual problem with the PS3 and would own one in a heartbeat. The graphics are similar to PC games 2 to 2.5 years ago, or current games running on a $50 graphics card.I sampled it on a High Def Plasma and played Need for speed Carbon at 720p.The graphics were simplistic and nowhere near as good as the game running on my PC even at lower res.For example the reflections on the bonnet in PS3 were simple, not detailed and pretty lame. On PC they are simply awesome.There are also "jaggies" everywhere on straight lines in the game.....the PS3 could do with a serious dose of anti-aliasing (AA) which is common to all pc video cards these days.I reckon that other than a desperate need for blueray (which few people have the need for) the money would be better spent on a slight pc upgrade to get a dual core cpu, 1+ gig of ram and a video card such as a Nvidia 6800GT or a 7600GT ($200). You will get better graphics than a PS3.Just my 2c...I have a mega pc at home (liquid cooled 3.5GHz quad core, 8800GTX, 2.5TB hdd yadayada )and am very picky about graphics so spot a lot of crap graphics others might not notice until I point them out to them! Now for the ppl out there that do have a ps3 download the Grand Turismo 4 demo and u will be amazed with the graphics, of course you'll need a HD tv to see just how good the graphics are, I haven't seen better graphics than GT4 and I just upgraded my pc 4 months ago and using 2 512 ge force video cards!
