Guest Guests Posted 18/12/06 02:15 AM Share Posted 18/12/06 02:15 AM cops won't intentionally or necessarily harrass or target you because of your car or licence. ←I disagree sorry mate. I've been pulled over in the wee small hours (left nightshift early) and PC Plod freely admitted it was because of the car. My argument was that I wouldn't be doing 55 km/h if I was out for trouble and his argument was that he was just doing the right thing which I agreed with. If my T had been stolen and they hadn't pulled the car over then I would have been spewing. I had nothing to hide and was glad to provide a breath sample but the bottom line was if I'd been driving the missus' car then there wouldn't have been a roadside discussion. Guest Guests Posted 18/12/06 02:47 AM Share Posted 18/12/06 02:47 AM In the 3 years owning my TRANNY I only ever got pulled over once.It was about 1 month before I sold it and the cop only pulled me up to do a liecence check on me.He never looked under the bonnet or anything but I reckon the reason he pulled me over was cause the car looked like a TRANNY GT with a shiny APS exhaust and a polished front mount cooler hanging out the front. I didnt mention thou that I got booked for not having my liecence 6 months suspension I have 1 month to go ←Lucky bastard, I got sentanced today. 2 years suspension and $25oo fine, filed for an appeal straight away . Im still a p plater in VIC and im curious to know if any other p platers out there have got a lot of unwanted cop attention in this type of car? The car is stock from factory atm but im still thinking that if ppl have had problems, I might take all the badges off, spray the intercooler black, etc. These are just suggestions but before I do anything any feedback would be great, thanks!Matty←Mate is the car an XR6T or a F6 Phoon, or does it have an after market cooler. The reason I ask is a stock T has a factory IC already painted black.Scotty

My missus and I have been pulled over heaps in her '03 lancer, and even in the old little laser. Simply because we were driving around at 4:30am and one of the few cars on the road. A cop isn't gonna target an XR over any other normal road car during normal daylight hours. The cop might have admitted that he pulled you over because of your car, but in reality, most cops out and about at that hour will pull cars over, regardless of the model. Personally, I think the cops target the older cars like commodores/falcons etc etc with cut springs, chopped exhausts and stuff. If your XR is relatively standard looking most cops don't give it a second look, they're so common now.

If you want a thrash car you buy a $15k import.

PURVIE Sexy Member Donating Members 524 Member For: 17y 11m 20d Gender: Male Location: Berwick, VIC Posted 18/12/06 07:55 AM Author Share Posted 18/12/06 07:55 AM Thanks for all the replies guys, ill see how it goes in the next month or so and if im getting pulled over more than usual ill definitely consider buying a herrod grill, or spraying the intercooler black. As for KS's question its an XR6T, not a phoon, but im a little confused as my intercooler is stock but chrome? The guy that I bought it off had done nothing visually or mechanically to the car whatsoever. Ive always been a Expensive Daewoo guy so the finer details with fords are a bit blurry... BT if you see an XR6T around the Berwick or cheltenham area with the number plates PURVIE that will be meeee!
