I found the T was quite good at ~ 200 Kph, over 220 it started getting a bit floaty and you had to ease off for corners, it just didn't feel good. for Ole mate who rolled his car at 180, Glad your still here, I would have thought that to be a one-way ticket!

But having said that, I've spent the last 4 years flogging along at ~200 and I'm not dead yet...come Jan 07 it's 130 top speed for me.

I could cry.

Claire Martin you b1tch.

On a private road, took my old 1970 XY Falcon 250c.I. up to 160 (100miles/hr on the gauge).. now that thing had a light front end!

I think it was almost of the ground!!

Not for all of us mate, I left the road doin about ~200kph on my Gixxer and walked away with only a broken hand, finger and Collar bone, only spent 14 hours in hospital. When its your time its your time I guess. Since then I save those kind of efforts for the race track only. Back on topic though, whats involved in lifting the speed limiter with the edit? Do I just ask my tuner and he types in a new limit?

Cheers

You would also be restricted by stock gearing and max RPM. If your limiter is set to say 7k, the gear ratios aren't changed, no amount of power will increase the top speed (eg, if the car can hit 7k in 6th with 250kW, then it will still be limited at 7k with 1,000kW, you'll just get there a hell of a lot faster).

Yeah, I would be interested in what the theoretical top speed , of a few cars on here is. Ie BCL's as his rev limiter has been raised.

Find out what revs she is doing at 100km/h, and what your rev limiter is and work it out.

So what would eb the top speed of a stock geared mkii xr8

Std gt wheels and tyres 2.07m, therefore 805wheel rpm at 100km/h.

3.46 diff and 0.63 top gear = 1755rpm at 100km/h.

Therefore top speed at 5800 in top = 330km/h. Ben.

Did you make that harder than it had to be, or are you just showing off?

Scotty

PS what would BCL's top speed be?
