Bad news Dean, are you going to try and toughen it or go for a 6 speed conversion?

Mine is still holding up with 312rwkw - but I do drive it like a baby most of the time. Have you got a copy of your dyno sheet, I'd like to compare it to mine.

Also, how did you drive when you did your 13.3 at the qtr? What sort of launch?

I just kept the revs up to about 2800 - 2900 then sort of slipped the clutch. worked well as I've got a ceramic clutch so it didn't keep slipping down the track. That time was only with the old 250rwkw tune and cheap ass 19" tyres so hopefully I'll get into the 12's when my box is sorted

...Ben (WTB56), I have one of your option 2 clutches that shudders and gets a bit of hop now and then.. some times its worse then others. You guys didn't install the clutch it was done here in canberra.. I take it that shudder isn't good for the box?? I got a feeling that maybe it wasn't installed properly, or the flywheel wasn't machined very well!

Again, it's not always... only some times depending on how I take off. I had to re-bleed the clutch initially and that helped heaps......

I would not be worried about the minor clutch-based shudder, it is not big in the scheme of things as far as shock load goes. Full-on axle tramp generally induces a "wtf was that, pull over and stop" type response from someone who has not experienced it before. The real damage comes from people who realize what it is and keep into it, without regard for the drivetrain. Ben.

cheers for that. Yeah I've had some pretty big shudders where it felt like the diff and the whole rear end suspension had dropped to the ground. but usually when I feel the car starting to bounce or shudder I back off and re-adjust my throttle/clutch to get it going smooth.

Haven't had a big shudder for a long time now, so I've pretty much got it down pat
