Wouldn't expect much more from a complete wa*ker and a team known for indescretions, owned by a grubby little ex bankrupt pom. I suppose this is what happens when sport become big business.

There is always next year, bignose has virtually faded into obscurity, and hopefully if theres any justice the claytons winner will buckle his new VE as badly as what his teeth are next year :pooh:

Young Mark W and Jason at least kept the ford flag respectable :idunno:

After all we are dealing with Holden, you wouldn't expect much more would you?

Good thing is 90% of people will know the truth, and the other 10% will be knuckle dragging HSV supporters who couldn't even afford a HQ :spit:

Can't afford a HQ but they can afford to buy the stocker and put body kits/badges & other try hard crap on it in a wannabe attempt to own a car that is as common as Rick Kelly's missus! :bum:

Rick Kelly is the 2006 champion that is now a fact.

Milli Vanilli had a number one record too.

They deserved that as much as Rick deserves his title.

He has a trophy that says he is the champion but like Milli Vanilli everyone knows he is not the real deal.

Weren't they gay as well?

If so, isn't even more appropriate!!!

YOU ARE BIDDING ON THE CHAMPIONSHIP WINNING CAR AS USED BY HOLDEN'S RICK KELLY

This car not only won the championship but also was involved in the lowest of low acts ever seen before on a motor racing circuit or sports field in this country. This car is so good it won the championship without even winning a round of the series.

AS A SPECIAL BONUS YOU WILL ALSO GET THE EXTRA, EXTRA WIDE REAR BUMPERS FROM THE CARS OF GARTH TANDER AND MARK SKAIFE AFTER ALL THIS WAS A GREAT TEAM EFFORT AND NOTHING GETS PAST THEM EVEN AFTER WARNINGS

BUT WAIT THERE IS MORE....

YOU ALSO GET THE MARSHAL'S BLACK FLAG AND V8 SUPERCAR RULE BOOK WHICH SEEMS TO HAVE BEEN THROWN OUT THE WINDOW WITH ANY CREDIBILITY OF AVESCO AND V8 SUPERCAR STEWARDS OR DRIVING SKILLS WHICH RICK KELLY HAD TO SHOW TO WIN THE CHAMPIONSHIP

NO RESERVE, HAPPY BIDDING

I DESERVE THE RIGHT TO END THIS AUCTION EARLY IF COMMON SENSE PREVAILS AND THE TRUE CHAMPION IS CROWNED 2006 CHAMPION ALSO AS IT IS ADVERTISED ELSEWHERE AND MIGHT BE SOLD EARLY SO AS TO BURN ONTOP OF THE MOUNTAIN NEXT YEAR IN MEMORIAL OF THE GREATEST SPORTING INJUSTCE OF 2006."

The 06 V8 Championship series has ended in damaging contoversy for the fans, the teams and the sports' administrators.

The facts are these:

Fact 1. The combined teamwork of the HRT and HSV teams was brought to bear to diminish the chances of Lowndes winning. This is OK, but it must be done within the rules. Maybe sometimes it was not.

Fact 2. Rick Kelly was judged guilty of a shunt in race 3, and was penalised with a drive-through.

Fact 3. This shunt was a championship-determining act - Kelly lost penalty time, but Lowdnes was effectively put out of the race.

Fact 4. The difficulty for the officials was to decide if Kelly's penalty was appropriate under the circumstances.

If this had been Race 2 in Round 2 of the series, such a penalty would be considered by everyone to be appropriate, as the consequences for each competitor would be minimal.

However in this case, the consequences of the shunt were extreme (championship-determining), so is it appropriate to apply the simple "Round 2" rules??

Fact 5. Without any other guidance from the rules available, the officials applied the simplistic "Round 2" ruling, and stuck with the drive-through penalty for Kelly.

Unfortunately, this ruling was extremely controversial, leaving the Ford fans feeling a lack of natural justice, and probably some Expensive Daewoo fans feeling that maybe something was wrong here.

So, what would have been the best way to resolve this??

There is a very true saying that applies in difficult decision circumstances: "If in doubt, throw it out".

In my opinion, given the extreme and unresolvable controversy of Race 3, it would have been a better outcome for the sport to have declared at yesterday's hearing that Race 3 be classed null and void for the championship.

Therefore, the points score would revert to that after Race 2 - resulting in a draw, and the awarding of joint championship to Kelly and Lowndes.

A much better outcome than the bitterness and division that we have now.
