For the sake of a few $ on a silicon bend is it really worth putting the plastic one on? It would suck to blow on you at dyno time mid tune

Lol, C'Mon guys, have some faith!! I've seen it with 12 psi being pumped though it. The plastic doesn't flex, the piping doesn't move at all. I don't think it'll let go on me.

The cheapest 3 inch 90 degree bends I can get are $32. There's a hunge right there. Add onto that the stainless needed.

It adds up...

But that has been my backup plan if this fails. (I have the stainless ready to go.)

I would of expected it to let go by now, but it hasn't. It's fine.

Well, The car's done about 4000 kays now with this setup.

Only issue I have is the brass fitting threaded into the intake resonator for the BOV, has moved a little. There is a visible gap in the putty sealant. It doesn't appear to be leaking though. The thread lock on the inside seems to be holding things together.

Other than that, it's all good. :

Little update on my setup.

Well I've gotten sick of my brass fitting not keeping a seal in the plastic resonator. So I decided to replace it and remount the BOV.

So, I was looking for another plastic resonator until I saw a thread on FF with an 3inch ally 180 bend a couple of guys had used. (See thread: http://www.fordforums.com.au/showthread.php?t=89767 ) Looking at their pics it looked like it would suit my setup to the letter. So I picked up said bend from supercheap for $30.

(Now before you all say I told you so, I would still be using the resonator if it wasn't for the above. It did a fine job and has seen 10k or so kays without popping. Not once did It blow any hoses off since the day I installed it.)

I already had a 90 degree 3 inch bend, 3 inch straight, various S.S off cuts and an assortment of hose clamps so I was good to go.

I took a bit of 3 inch stainless I had over to Liverpool exhaust and got them to weld a pipe into it to mount my bov to. No more leaking bov pipe for me.

I knew the old setup was leaking a little, but I didn't realise how much boost I was actually losing. The car is noticeably more responsive and has alot more in the go department. Wasn't expecting that.

Not a pretty engine bay, but it works well. Still trying to save up to get my valve springs put in and get the damn thing tuned. :w00t2:

And sorry for the blurry photos. I've got the flu and can't hold the camera steady.
