Obviously this isn't going to appeal to everyone, but the topic came up recently over on AFF about Rspec GT rear wheels for people wanting to maintain a factory look but get some wider rubber on the rear. Given there's talk of dropping $1000 ish per wheel for the Rspec wheels, Forge Wheels over in QLD (the guys who made forum member PLAYRZ wheels) do what they call an "OEM+ program" in which they will create custom forged wheels based on OEM wheels. I inquired about getting some copies of the standard GT wheels made. Their response was that they start from $5,000 a set for their custom OEM based forged wheels. HOWEVER, given there were a few people that seemed interested in the idea once I posted it I contacted Forge Wheels about the possibility of a group buy and this was their response:

"Thanks for spreading the word on what our company can do, we appreciate it.

A group buy will definitely bring the price of the wheels down, the more number the lower the price.

If the guys all want different offsets we can design a single profile for the front and a single profile for the rear then increase backpad height for each particular person to increase the offset, this will not alter the price per set.

If everyone wanted the same finish we could also finish the wheels in batches to reduce cost.

What sort of numbers do you think you can pull together?

What Diameter, Width and Offset would most guys want?

This is something we can definitely do for you guys to bring the cost down, keep in mind we still make a quality product so price will still be realistic. I would say we can get them down to $4,000 per set with a few numbers at once."

So now we're pretty much talking the same price per wheel as genuine Rspec wheels...except you can choose your own diameter, width and offset AND they're forged alloy wheels so I'd imagine would be stronger and lighter than the factory wheels.

I thought I'd drop this in here in case any of you fine folk would be interested in this too, maybe some of the F6 guys etc??

An idea.

I don't now who to go through but the intake silencer delete pipe seems a little extreme in price for what it is. Looks to be a 3" powdercoated metal bend, 3" silicone bend and a reducer. The 185 price tag seems steep.

An example of one available.

https://www.plazmaman.com/shop_itemdetail.php?itemid=87&cate=29 $185

http://rapidsystems-racing-products.myshopify.com/products/fg-intake-muffler-delete-kit $145

http://www.processwest.com.au/index.php/products/ford/fg-products/air-intake-muffler-delete & $195

Does anyone here think they could get them cheaper or even have them made for cheaper?

I don't know how popular this sort of thing would be.
