It's a shame to see the car in such a state. The upside is that you're ok, and have bragging rights. The car is replaceable; you are not.As for the police charging you for negligent driving, I think you'd have a reasonable chance of defending it. The freeway on ramps are merging points, not give way points. The driver infront of you may in fact be negligent rather than yourself for failing to merge in a safe manner.Anyways, have fun with your replacement vehicle. Guest Guests Posted 10/12/06 01:02 AM Share Posted 10/12/06 01:02 AM Unlucky mate, some people just don't belong on the road. Iv'e had this happen to me but I rounded the tool up down the break down lane and merged. When there's 5 car's doing 1oo odd click's all in a row getting ready to merge and the first *beep* decides to jump on the skids it's not just him you have to worry about you also need to worry about being hit from behind. Guest Guests Posted 10/12/06 02:49 AM Share Posted 10/12/06 02:49 AM I still think it's a dog act that they gave you a ticket for neg driving considering they either saw what happened or were there straight after. And your lucky insurance covered it with the neg driving ticket.

The only way they wont cover it would be if he was under the influence of alchol or drugs.Negligent : something a reasonable or prudent person wouldnt do or omitting to something a reasonable or prudent person would do.I know that doesnt mean much but the person entering into a higway must give way to other vehicles using the highway. I know it sucks.
