Guest XR6TPHANTOM Guests Posted 21/05/03 08:55 AM Share Posted 21/05/03 08:55 AM Also had whole steering rack replaced at about 4000kms. A noticable clicking noise was evident when moving the steering wheel at low speed. Dealer put it straight up on the hoist and decided to replace the rack within minutes. Was replaced by end of next day. I thought it strange at the time that they would just replace the rack without looking a little closer. But can't really complain, service was excellent. HellionXR6T I'm Back!! Thats right, long over due! :) Lifetime Members 4,348 Member For: 22y 2m 17d Gender: Male Location: West Brisbane Posted 22/05/03 02:15 AM Share Posted 22/05/03 02:15 AM Had the clicking noise a couple of months ago when steering at low speed or standstill.Dealer fixed changing something in the way the steering is fixed to the vehicle, and I have not heard any noises since ninka and XR6TPHANTOM, you guys are lucky. I was there for 3 hours or more on Tues night, had to bleed fluid twice and the car was still making this whining noise that was extreamly annoying, just stopped doing that last night driving home. Thank God, otherwise I'd be driving back there tonight with a spiked bullbar attempting to run over all the service guys. Now all I need fixed is the damn plastic seat mound. (again)!! Part not arriving until next week. Not to mention someone to be available to machine the front disks during the day.
Guest Crusty Guests Posted 23/05/03 05:41 AM Share Posted 23/05/03 05:41 AM Just got my car back from service re the creaking sound when turning the wheel.Fixed! Not much detail on what repairs were needed though. Also got a couple of other things rectified like a high pitched whining in the engine and shuddering brakes.Bit of a pain on a new car but I still love it and at the end of the day if its fixed I'm not really worried. Guest Xr6Tas Guests Posted 06/07/03 01:23 AM Share Posted 06/07/03 01:23 AM Just had mine replaced at 3000k service. Wasn’t notified that it had been done. I just noticed it on the work sheet they provided me (Part recall: PR6C264A).Steering definitely feels a little tighter and heavier now. I’m not sure if I like it or not as I was very used to how it felt before. Anyone else noticed this?
