the rta rule book is quite comprehensive so its better to get a professional engineer to approve all mods with an engineers certificate.

then when u get pulled over u can shove the paperwork in there faces and laugh at them.

theres a lot of loopholes in the system so u can get away with a lot of stuff.

my dad drives a home made car with 15 inch wide rears every day <hes an engineer > :tease:

An engineer certificate is still not a golden ticket to lawfull modifications to your car. If police disagree with the modification or they simply are unsure if it complys then you will still be defected and forced to have the vehicle cleared or have your rego cancelled. But it is the best step you can take to ensure your vehicle comply's with the standards and safety regulations and will undoubtably benefit you overall.

I am going to an engineer to get my mods certified, but the guy recons he doesn't know what the rules are in NSW!!! even though he lives and works from NSW, he only deals with VIC car because he lives on the border. He doesnt know how many mods NSW are allowed, ONly knows the VIC regs.

ANywy, got my blue slip rejected so I am going to see this guy next week.
