Hi all just a simple question... I would like to buy some tyres for the quarter mile runs at WSID but I was told by some one that if I were to buy a full slick tyre that I would need a tailsharft loop... Is this true. And also another question related to the tyres and rims. What size rim would be needed to fit on the rear of the car as the car has the pbr brake upgrade and is lowered with ssl.

Full slicks also need front runners.

You CANNOT run a slick with a normal road tyres on the front. Just ask the guy in Perth who hit the wall in a supercharged Commodore..

Slicks/Frontrunners require 15" rim on the front and rear, so brakes need to be small, ie not PBR brakes. \

Go MT's on a 9" wide rim.

full slicks are out of the question now... will now have a look at the street slicks. but not sure about the rim size.. the car currently has 18's with road tyres..

reason I would like to go to the semi slicks was that I ran at the creek (wsid) on wensdy and I was getting alot of wheel spin of the line.. had the car stalled at 4psi at around 2000 to 2100rpm's my 60ft was a 2.2 and my mph was a 114. it ran a high 12's.

You shouldnt have any issues with these tyres as long as you warm them up, plenty of people have used them in "fast" cars without issues. I ran a 132mph with them and they were perfect. If you are only launching at 2000rpm you wont get wheel spin.

What I should have written was I was launching at around 2000 to 2100 4psi on street tyres (pirelli's) so I hope the street slicks would grip up a little better
