Hey all,

What sensors should I try and tap into for data logging and real time display for my carputer project.

Should I install separate sensors or try and tap into existing ones.

How many MAP sensors does the T have? and does anyone know there output voltage range?

This is what I use to check all the sensors. I get all the sensor information from the cars OBD port into my Laptop Computer.

The information is in real time. :spoton:

The software I use:

Proscan v 4.0

Digimoto v 4.03

Pcmscan v 1.4.3

AutoTap v 3

I didnt think OBD2 could read the extra sensors such as boost, only a CAN device could.

CAN devices a 200+ for something very basic that is interfaced though a com port and dosnt come with any software

Hi 937, can you tell me if you can measure the following:

Boost

Cam Adjusters

Both MAP sensors

Fuel Pressure

Oil Temp

Transmission Oil Temp

Cheers

(Sorry if this is a bit of a hijack)

To answer your question, I would try and tap into the original sensors. I would think they would have a +5v range, but I could be wrong.

CAN is only a protocol, and it's read from the OBDII port, just like the other protocols.

As for boost, Oil Temp etc, you will need a more advanced scanner than 937 uses. ( still CAN, and still read from the OBDII port )

I also have a basic scanner, Autoenginuity but that's a bit more exxy than 937's. He has the shareware software ( just as good ) but they can't read as many sensors as the SCT/CAPA data logger.

The best you get from BF is CAT temps, and general temps like ambient/coolant and air intake with the basic scanners....

So what would be the best value for money mapping tool to get? Outside of the SCT product of course.

This would be handy to have for fine tuning as well as displaying the data on the screen.
