I think Ford and Expensive Daewoo are kidding themselves if they think that a Falcon or Late model camira will every be able to match the Euro models.

They are competing against the E series Merc, 5&7 series BMW and the A6> Audi's.

All of these cars are more than twice the price of the local cars and this is where the problem starts.

You cannot compete on quality and features, if you are charging 1/2 the price.

What Ford/Expensive Daewoo should do is concerntrate on the build quality of their cars in direct comparison to the Jap cars like the Toyota/Mazda and Nissan.

All of these models are similar in size and features, but the Jap cars appear to be better built and have a much better trained dealer network.

IMHO the biggest letdown seems to be the dealer network after sales service. This is after reading 3 years worth of gripes from new owners on this forum.

No, these cars, when compared to falcon/comodore of SIMLIAR specification are exactly the same price, problem is you have to buy them in their home countries - or wherever tax's laws favour them.....

BMW and Mercs are used as taxies. So are SAABs and Volvos.

Whats even more scary is how much better they are for, realistically, the same price :funnydance:
