DVD based Sat Nav

A decent automatic

ESP

Already got these.

I thought the Sat Nav was CD based

u thought wrong

There are heaps of better boxes than the ZF. Take a Lexus or Audi (non DSG model) for a test drive and you'll see what I mean.

BMW use ZF, lmfao@Lexus and Audi

No ESP on FPV models...

But available on other models.

Are the ZF boxes in the Falcons manufactured in Germany as well?

The shifts in the BMW 330 I drove were a lot smoother and quicker than the Falcon I test drove the day before. This was on up and downshifts...

Yes, they are manufacturered in Germany.

Dont forget the BMW 330 you drove has a low output engine compared to the T (not to mention it's a lighter vehicle) so they can afford to offer high slip changes to give a very smooth shift without worrying about damaging the box.

The Aston Martin also has the ZF, but they have the flappy paddles as well.

The gearbox and motor can be ajusted with software to allow blipping of the throttle and sharper shifting.

Ford just need to do some updating of the software to gain these features.

The ZF is one of the best gearboxes in the world IMHO.

Moving the side turn indicators to the mirrors would be quite welcome as well because they're heaps easier to see though I do understand some may not like them due to aesthetics.

A coupe would be a nice variation. But I don't think it would sell that well. Most people buy an XR or FPV because they can also fit the family in it (with the convenience of 4 doors). Perhaps a coupe on the FPV range only would be pretty good. Would be good for the guys that want something different and don't need the ease of 4 doors.

I agree that they need to lose a little weight, but fark, most people have enough traction problems as it is. Imagine 350rwkw, in a lighter car... :spoton:

I really hope they don't change from the BA/BF too much. Especially when it comes to the motor. I remember hearing they were gonna use smaller turbos?? I hope not... the current turbos are great to mod.

I think a supercharged XR8/GT option would be awesome too.. perhaps a 300-310kw supercharged 8. Twin turbo would be the best, but asking too much.

5 year bumper to bumper warranty as a standard feature. Show they have confidence in the product they build.

Roof airbags and side airbags as standard.

Triple wired immobilser on all XR' with mobile phone SMS notification when alarm sounds, shock sesnor detection or glass breakage.

All up and down with one touch elecectric windows

Twin pipes out the rear

Brake assist

So it is a decent box, just ford stuffed the execution.

Well I'd like to see the new Falcon blip the throttle on downshifts, and also allow quicker and smoother down and up shifts.

main thing I'd like to see is lower weight. How can they do this? I'd suggest some alloy rear suspension parts, alloy block engines and I wouldn't mind seeing a slight decrease in dimensions (back to say a camry size).
