F6 UTE - Track Bound EVO III - Member 3,367 Member For: 20y 2m 18d Gender: Male Location: Strapped in and holding on Posted 04/12/06 12:39 AM Share Posted 04/12/06 12:39 AM Yoki A048 are one of the bestBridgestone make one, but they are pretty ordinary in comparison.Federal make an ok one for the price.Just look at each manufactures webpage and it will list DOT approved R-Comp / R-Spec tyres.I have found nothing will increase your lap times more than learning to drive your own car better and being smooth.I have lapped faster than cars with R-Comps and Bigger brakes whilst I remain on my everyday street tyres.You'll be looking at ~$3k setup. Suspension is a wonderful thing, unless it's Ford factory fitted!!!It might be said I beat the driver, not the car. But how many cars are driven by themselves?? XR06T Silver Donating Members 4,146 Member For: 19y 8m 11d Gender: Male Posted 04/12/06 01:23 AM Share Posted 04/12/06 01:23 AM rear sway bar, and make sure you have finished braking well before the apex of the corner..that was the main tip I was given when goin around barbagello..also more negative camber and positive castor will help!when I went around the track and it understeered a quick stab at the gas on the slower corners to create oversteer also gets rid of the understeer. groper Member 611 Member For: 18y 1m 5d Posted 28/01/08 11:02 PM Share Posted 28/01/08 11:02 PM (edited) I bought some federal rs595 street legal semi slick tyres for my ute, and I must say the grip is very impressive. holds 360+rwkw in a manual, with a bootload of throttle around a corner very nicely... the factory dunlops would have sent me spinning round and round under the same circumstances...lol... I cant believe how much difference it makes... theyre a bargain at $390 each and I highly recommend trying them...I have no idea how long they will last though...
