Posted 03/12/06 10:08 PM Share Posted 03/12/06 10:08 PM Mate im a big fan of meguires three step polishThey all come in maroon bottles Step One is a pain cleaner that removes all the crap of your paint workStep two is a normal polishStep three is a good waxGet yourself some good polishing cloths when you get the polishPS you will need at least 6 hrs free time for best results←Meguires is good, but do you realise that they have Meguires Gold Class which has all of the above setps in one polish, plus Wet Look clear coat as well. I used to use the Claener, Polish, Was and Wet Look, but now Gold Class does it in one go with the same result. ←All I have ever done with goldie the car that is.Is a high pressure wash than dry with chamois and than every six weeks or so is as you have said mequires gold class. The paint has no marks in it and shines better than new.I have never used a sponge and wash cloth when washing the car as these tend to scratch the surface of the paint.Ian

It won't evapourate in the sun like carnuba wax and forms a glass like coat on your paint (if you believe the advertising crap). Some places will charge as much as $90 per bottle but DON'T pay that much. Should be able to get it for $27.50 from a wholesaler.

This way just washing with water brings the car back to a just polished / waxed finish. Check out waxit.com.au. The owner put me onto Poorboy products (Polish and Sealant) which are reasonably priced and definately protect the car longer than anything from the meguires range. Polish by hand or by machine.←Depends on how good you are with a buffer. The buffer will do a quicker job but if you are not careful you can burn the paint. If you are in any doubt stick to hand polishing.

Polish by hand or by machine.←Hand is always better if there aren't too many stains on the paint. Regardless of how good you are with a buffer, they always leave swirl marks.
