Thanks Guys :tease:

I was wondering if the paint was to young to put a polish on. Has any one heard of this before. I am getting a heap of TAR on the back tailgate and am having a bitch of a time getting it off and was thinking that a polish would make it easier to clean. Also living a block away from the beach with no garage makes me think that a polish and wax would be in order. Also scared of putting swirls in the paint from the polishing process.

If you are worried about swirls, or just unsure don't take the chance, have a professional detailer do it.  :spoton:

Have you had a price on professional detail? Why would they be less likely to get swirls than me?

You could pay between a $100 to $200 dollars for a good job. They will remove any swirls or marks and get the paint perfect. Then they will probaly stick on 3 to 4 coats of wax to keep it that way. These guys know paint. If you do want to push on by yourself then stick with the wax.

A pic taken on sunday to show the gleam.

So tell us how you wash GOLDIE without spunge or cloth.Idont think a high pressure water blaster will remove all dirt .

I was told by a pro car painter and detailer that high pressure washing is not good for the paint as it can damage it. Over time, pressure washing can cause crazing and eventually flaking of the paint.

He said modern paints (especially dark colours) are relatively soft and should be always washed by hand.
