As I was holding the tx and the Heli at the same time, I accidentally pushed throttle up to max with my shirt, causing un-unnecessary pain to my arm.. Damn those little bastids can do some damage.. Guest newl Guests Posted 07/12/06 12:15 AM Share Posted 07/12/06 12:15 AM General rules to abide by:a) Always perform a preflight inspection of your model, checking for loose connections, connecting rods (bindings, travel).b) Turn on your radio first, reset all switches and controls to their normal position, throttle to the minimum (with maybe a little trim for the first start for those that have other than electric).c) Turn on your receiver second with the TX on the ground. This allows you to use both hands, one to hold the head, the other to enable the switch. Switch hand moves away first, then the hand holding the head. This allows you to use the switch hand to control the throttle on the TX.d) When bringing up the head speed, give all controls a twitch (aileron, rudder, pitch) to verify that they're operating correctly (which is normally done in step a or b when checking for throw and bindings anyway). There's a few more I typically follow regarding fuel hoses, boom struts and what have you on my Raptor but those are the basics that should normally be followed and gotten into the habit of doing for not only safe flight but to help prevent such problems as blade strikes against softer tissue. Damn it's hard.. I was plummeting backwards towards the ground but couldn't get my head around 'push the stick the other way idiot' so I hit the deck.. No damage though..I have hovering and general control A1. I can fly backwards no problems at all, even at speed I'm good a that.Just gotta try some figure 8's I suppose and get the hang of it.I've also landed on the barstool a few times which is very impressive for such a touchy machine.. Very time consuming just to get basic flight control, but I'm determined to get my little beastie to do a stall turn by christmas..

Guest newl Guests Posted 07/12/06 09:13 AM Share Posted 07/12/06 09:13 AM Nose in isn't as hard as it seems. Just remember, stick under low blade (ailerons) and forward towards you, back moves away. Before you know it, you'll be doing nose in orbitals (again, people usually favor one direction over the other).
