I once lost engine power after a loop with the concept at about 30m, was my first attempt at an auto-rotation, it came down quick but landed right side up with the rotor still turning

Dammit.. I've been looking at T-rex 450's on ebay....

I was going to shell for the NR2-3D but couldn't justify learning on a 3d capable machine..

I reckon I'm a month away from going a 3D Heli.. But I can't wait!!!

Pretty addictive.. I smashed some head parts attempting my first 'manouvers' last night, but have parts to fix and will be outside shotrly as the winds have susbided..

I'll link to my vid I sent my bro in-law..

44Mb dload for those interested in a piss-weak elec heli hovering around a theatre room for 2 mins.. :smilielol:

I have graduated to pirouettes now... I can sustain a hover/control and am totally stuffed with my first attempt at box patterns.

Keep at it. It'll get easier. Just takes heaps of practice.

I should get me an electric too for those days I can't be bothered stuffing around with the Raptor.

For $175 RTF, it's about the best bfyb $$ I've spent!!! Including my Nitro rally car.....

Got it from Stanbridges..

Even come with batts..

I'm a lazy flyer. I just tool around. I like watching 3D stuff. I don't mind dishing it out on the sim. I think it's a fear of cost factor should I stuff it up that keeps me from doing it in reality (I've been flying now for a little over three years).

haha yeah, I remember my first unplanned auto. I was doing piro's and had a flame out, ended up nose in offset to my right at around the same height.

At this point, I'd never landed nose in let alone performed an auto rotation. After that, I practiced my nose in landings. Still need to work on my autos though.

the Raptor is a nice helli, what size is it?

It's only a .30 (and a version 1 to boot). I've flown my mates 60 and his 90. They're both beautiful to fly and hover pretty good even with a somewhat strong wind (where normally you'd be fighting it pretty good in a 30).
