would you offer a trade on a manual 6 speed box with 10000km on it??

if I want to go fast it has to be auto...

C4 is the best option from what I have heard

sorry mate but we don't trade the manual units in, as we already have too many of them

Steve,

Just to clarify for people:

C4 is a 3 speed auto with ratios 2:46:1 ; 1:46:1 and 1:1 (please let us know if incorrect).

For comparison standard 4 speed auto ratios are 2.5:1 ; 1.49:1, 1:1 ; 0.68:1

Given that there is no overdrive, then in 3rd you'll be doing around 3000 revs at 100kph with 3.46 diff, 3200 revs at 100kph with 3.73 diff, 3550 revs at 100kph with 4.10 diff (that you recommend).

.... so it's not very friendly if you do a lot of country driving, otherwise 1st and 2nd are very close to the base 4 speed auto.

I assume this is for people that want to be able to put large power levels in front of the auto, with a bent towards drag racing.... can you state the power level that it will reliably be able to support.

If people are going to do these conversions they should be aware of all the issues.

Thanks,

Brian

Yes they do raise the rpm once in 1:1 but really doesn't make a hugh difference if still running the 3.46 diff ratio, and to be honest your never going to get a factory transmission to handle a decent motor, with our c4 trannys we've easily held 1000hp and we currently run the same unit in our mustang which runs consistant mid 9's on the quarter.

This is a option for the more serious falcon owner, but I will also point this out, we fit a hi-stall convertor at the same time and this then zero's the turbo lag.

Hope this helps and thanks for the input BCL

how far have you gone with the new rear end of these things??

have you got around the weak CV`s??

as when I go auto I can see them breaking all the time..

I know a shop that can do a 1ooorwhp setup, $8ooo. If you can get 5 or more deposit's he'll do them for $6,ooo a set. Big money but if you want to get the power down...............

cv's aren't a problem, got a guy up here that does the overlander 4x4 cv's and he's able to product some kits for us at a pretty reasonable rate (just takes a little too long sometimes)
