Looking at 4.10 gears over the 3.73 gears but not real sure. Just wondering if anyone that has 4.10 can give me a bit of info on how they find it driving.Cheers Edited 28/11/06 02:00 AM by xrboss8 Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/30652-diff-gears/ Share on other sites

In my view a 3.90 (if available), would be about perfect, and the best overall compromise. I've got this now by using the 4.11 diff and larger tyres, and that works well my larger laggier turbo, and the city driving I do.Note that most manufacters set up gearing so the 2nd gear must pull 100kph, so they are unlikely to use a lower diff than the 3.73.As for autos, I doubt you use the 4.11 diff with the 6 speed auto, as 1st is already very low, and would be useless. As Steve suggests, would be OK with a 2 speed powerglide for drag racing application.Brian Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/30652-diff-gears/#findComment-471543 Share on other sites
