Ford claim they can't see or feel anything wrong.........but I can tell there is.Obviously I have had the tryes rotated/balance/alligned, many times. I have tried changing the tyre pressures also, they normally sit at 38psi (on recommandation from some noob tyre bloke in my area)any ideas? I would suggest that you jack up the car so the front wheel is off the ground and see if there is any play in the bearings. As the temp in the bearings rise they expand so this could be the reason why its going away..Might also be an ideal to take it to a tyre place and get the wheels re balanced at another NOOB tyre joint Edited 27/11/06 11:38 AM by revheadrobbo

This is more common with cars that have worn out or old suspension and cant keep continual downforce on the tyre and the tyre infact develops lumps accross the tread. These are usually very noticble when you simply run your hand accross the surface of the tyre and compare it with a tyre that is unaffected, in your case, use your rears.Juts my stab in the dark. ZAP No boost, no bottle, just my foot on the throttle! They will have a little machine that spins the wheel while still on the car up to 180 km/h and will detect any problem with the wheel/tyres or rotors. It will cost more than your average balance, but it will also tell you is something is not round. Mine are 17" std dunlops, does it for about 1km - but only when I've left it for a day sitting there.←I have had a similar problem and it turned out to be the tyres getting very minor flatspots on them if the car sat still for longer than a couple of days (I travel for work often and the car sits at home) - it seemed to get worse as the tyres got older?? - new tyres (same type) problem seems to have gone.I wonder whether the tyres get harder as they get older and become more easily flat-spotted??Anyway, I think it sounds like a tyre problem similar to what I had.....hope that helps?? Mine are 17" std dunlops, does it for about 1km - but only when I've left it for a day sitting there.←I have a similar problem as well - BF MK11 - Brand New - have had a vibration through the car since new. Been in for 3 balances and rotation of tyres etc. Last time there was a big improvement for 40km's. The next day the same vibration+hum was there again until I inadvertently ran over the ripple stripes on the side of the road for about 3 seconds and then it has been good again for about 150km's. I was convinced it was a dud tyre untilk the ripple strip thing and now it has got me really baffled. Just going to monitor it for a while and see. Just P's me off when this sort of crap happens with a brand new car. On a +ve note had a custom tune done last Friday with K&N filter - 260 rkkw and very happy with the performance now!
