Hey Guys,

Yesterday I took the XR in to have the brakes checked out due to noticeable brake shudder. Expecting the usual skim and shim job, called the dealer @ 3:30pm to check the car was ready for pickup only to be advised that the car is still in bits and I need to wait until tomorrow for 4 new rotors to arrive! :roflmbo: Apparently all 4 rotors have developed "hot spots".

Has this happened to anybody else?

Regards

Yeah I had shudder as well and all they did was machine them. After the 3rd time Ford apparently replaces them. I did get the "Brake shudder on the BF's is unheard of" line. My rotors and pads got a beating on one of the Nasho runs we have up here sometimes but they should still be able to handle such spirited driving from time to time.

Turbo.

I've haven't even been to any track days, but I the car has been through a few hard stops. I sort of just figured that's what relatively big brakes are designed to do....
