Car was on the same dyno with wog today in brissie @ FIST.

Earlier this week got new clamps on all teh intercooler hoses and done a full service etc etc etc.

I will scan in graph on monday. But yep its down on power and boost is all over the place and cant make as much boost as it did before.

Boost is up and down then holds it steady (but low)

So its either actuator? or turbo or mani bolts??? (I'd think I'd hear that) (but you had that too did you Mika and didnt notice?)

cheers for all the positive feedback in here and things to look at fellas.

And piss off to all the useless muppets that jump to conclusions.

:D :D :D

Mick

nope, he couldnt tell until it was opened up... if the bolts are missing or lose you wont hear it... it just drains the power and it wont hold boost as commanded. He had a 40 rwkw gain when bolts were replaced and tightened.

cheers :spoton:

conesnsus is it will be that or possibly actuator.

So I'll get actuator anyway as you gotta pop turbo off to do it.

:D

Funny that Dynowog does'nt even put actuators in his 320-360 rwklw kits as he said there not needed or fuel pumps :crybaby::bum:

You should be able to test the actuator.

Don't just go to the expense of changing it without being sure that's the problem.

If the actuator spring had lost it's tension I couldn't see how it would hold boost one minute and then not the next.

Yeah funny that, some *beep* think that no boost control = good tuning :w00t2:

Jason, didn't you do some tests on your actuator to see if it was working properly?

Yes, although mine was more lack of minimum boost and exhaust related issues.

However, I recently did some troubleshooting on another T with boost issues. The problem with that car was the lack of response under 3500rpm but no issues with peak power. You could see on the dyno graph exactly when the power shot up.

As it turned out, the car had a 8psi actuator installed but there wasn't enough preload on the wastegate swingvalve assembly. What that did was allow the swing valve to remain partially open causing the exhaust gases to bleed-off through the wastegate port, starving the turbine wheel of the gass it needs to spin. Hence the lack of response down low.

lol honestly.

theres some thick *beep* on this forum.

and some useful *beep*.

Im bringing the car down to c&v so they can throw nos on it.

Should solve all my issues.....

Mick

Sound very similar to the issue I had.

We decided to change the actuator and found the issue whilst taking the turbo out. The car would not have needed the actuator change but since we were there.....

Just waiting for the clutch and surge tank now so we can finalise the tune. Hmmmm all that grunt on pump fuel. On tap all the time and not just till the bottle runs out. :pooh:

yeh mate, thanks for that.

im thinking it will be the tubi or mani bolts.

only one way to find out. And it doesnt hurt to throw in a $150 actuator in there at the same time that will help with boost control alot better to redline...

:)

cheers

Will post more when I find out more for anyone intrested following the thread.
