DYNO FIGURES ARE JUST NUMBERS, do not be sucked into "the number is higher it must have more power" as you have found out the way it makes power, it is actually slower than what you had before, if you went to a tuner in your area you could go back and have the problem rectified there and then not having to wait for weeks with an "off tune", while it may seem good to have a rush of boost and have big wheel spin you will infact be going backwards

Nup, they all want the biggest number...

The way I see it, you have a tune that most likely ( and I have total respect fot the tuner ) has timing advanced above stock off boost ( this gets the motor breathing early thus generating boost quicker, nothing new here or bad ), now your running the car in a hotter ( than melb ) climate, with heaps of under bonnet heatsoak sitting in the staging lanes. So what happens is it detonates, just lightly, and not even enough to hear, but it detonates and the computer retards the timing as a safty measure... now you've got less timing, less power and less torque than your dyno readout suggests, so yeah, its unfortunatley gonna run slower

Let me draw all your attention to this thread

http://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=30299

Now this car made 271.6rwkw with an Xtreme tune.

To quote Simon AFR's were "12.5 from 2500 to 5000 and just touching on 12.8 at 5500"

Now that seems rather similar to the tune above. I do also recall a HPF tune which was making less power hit AFR's of 13.1:1 at WOT. So why when Nick does this sort of work does he get crucified yet when others do it, it goes un-noticed?

So now you can all lick my :w00t2::roflmbo:

No offense intended to anybody in this post, so please nobody take it the wrong way

I LOVE YOU ALL :roflmbo:

p.s couldn't make to serious a post, my reputation would be ruined

The mph always tells the truth

aint that the truth.

Now I dont want to say anything about Nicks tune.

What I want to say is if you have a local tuner who knows what he is doing it is in this VERY situation that you wished you coughed up a few extra bucks to get the job done.

In sitation like this I would have put the car back on the dyno and check it for FREE.

Its hard to offer this service when your tuner is not in the same state.

Service is a big thing to me and especially to you guys who show the passion in these great cars.

These cars arent cheap dungers and deserve the best as I am sure you would expect the best for your precious 40- 70k vehicle. :roflmbo:
