Hello all

Just a quick question for the experts

Changing the oil in my gear box and was wondering if it need 4 litres or 4.8 litres.

I am aware that there is a TSB on it.

Is it safe only to run 4 litres??

The difference between 4L and 4.8L doesnt soundlike much. I know ya dilemma with the stuff only coming in 4L containers, but leaving it 800ml short sounds risky.

Shift action is so much lighter and feels so much better when changing gears.

for $80 its well worth it

Can some one please explian why the 6T box takes 4.8Lt and the V8 only take 3.8Lt

cheers

The extra litre is only to shut up the I6 box, as they can be more prone to noise due to poorer idle quality than the V8. For this reason running a neat 4 litres is not "Risky". Ben.
