I use this fuel religiously in my car, and it seem's to do the job.

It got up to $1.50 a litre at one stage, so it wouldn't be my fuel of choice if my car was a daily hack.

According to Shell, V Power Racing is a new blend, not the same as Optimax Extreme.

:bum:

V Power Racing is a 100RON Blend with 5% Ethanol as was 'Optimax Extreme'

V Power is a 98RON Blend with new friction modifiers to replace 'Optimax'

Refer to below link

Found V Power racing to be okay but it generates heaps of black sh*te all over the back of my car.

Went back to Mobil after 2 tanks and surprise surprise... black sh*te gone.....

Had a chat to Shell customer service about the black sh*te and their response was "what black sh*te". As far as they are concerned, their fuel does not generate soot.

I just got my info from here

V Power Racing leaves Optimax Extreme Behind

Im sure there isn't any major differences however, but as lumpy says they must have changed something to get it into SA. :bum:

I think personally, that any Fuel with an Ethanol Blend, be it VPOWER Racing, OPTIMAX EXTREME, and even to a degree, the Boost98 10% Ethanol Blend from United, all leave 'soot'

But when talking about straight Petroleum, regarding the 98RON fuels, like the new VPOWER (not VPOWER Racing) and old Optimax are relatively soot free.

Always found the same with Optisoot (and quite a few others on here were the same from memory) Very noticeable on the yoot.

Yeh ive been using it for at least a month or so now - cant tell the difference at all.... mind you there is WAY less soot on the rear exhaust pipe.

The servo in Brisbane I used to get it at changed from extreme to V-Power racing overnight and I didnt see them pump the tank dry..

I doubt it is any different the optimux extreme....

Used plenty of it and I know for a fact that this fuel burns a little hotter than straight gas and therefore reducing the amount of carbon deposits...

However, you will always use more ethanol or methanol to produce the same power as petrol....

But on a cold night, hot tune, tank of v-power racing and a bottle of octane booster to boot..... You can certainly feel the difference.

As if they'd bother draining the tanks. Its all the same stuff, made to the same standard and regulations. Any biochemist will tell you that but the oil companies sure wont.

Is it just me but has the price difference of premuim fuels and regular unleaded

gotton somewhat bigger of late??
