how did you fark the 3.5" metal cats?? just so that those of running them know what to expect :tease:

By running too much exhaust gasses through them. I've managed 328rwkw with 1 3.5" Metalcat, but it almost folded itself inside out within a week. A tell-tale sign is lack of boost at high rpm, and a whistling sound in the exhaust.

I'm not singling out the Metalcats on their own, I've been though 3 SMB 4" cats too. F6 UTE has had a SMB cat failure too.

I looked at a twin 3" ceramic cat setup on a car that's been running 300rwkw for over a year now, and the cats look as good as the day they were installed. Just goes to show sometimes a product isn't as good as it's made out to be (metallic cats).

Raphooon is running 355rwkw on his 3.5" metal cat. I have been running over 300 on mine for quite some time.

What afr's were you running for the cat to fail at that power level?

Hope they dont fail. Not really keen on getting a new one...

Update on tune.

post-5969-1164372482_thumb.jpg

I think the spring tension in the actuator is starting to fail from the few simple tests I've conducted. Boost has significantly dropped from the last tune, although power has increased ever so slight. I can't say I'm disappointed with the result seeing the low level of boost the turbo is running, but I'd rather have the boost consistant higher in the rpm. I'm assuming once I have the actuator replaced with a stronger spring tension unit, power will pickup too. My target is 380-400rwkw without exceeding 15-16psi, on the stock engine.

The midrange feels quite strong, with a lazy 900nm @ 3700rpm. It feels every bit of it, as I discovered when attempting to overtake this morning. Rolled on the throttle in 3rd gear and wheelspin city!

I had plans to head to the Fast Friday at the Motorplex, but with the MT ET Streets not arriving until end of next week I thought it would be a wasted effort on street tyres.

I'll rectify the boost, fit the tyres and then have a run.

Yes I've seen another F6 running 350rwkw with the single 3.5" unit, but that is showing signs of failure.

AFR's - anything from hi 11's to low 12's.

Hi M6 XR6T,

Nice dyno graph ... but still another 30-40 RWKW to gain if you fitted a full Nizpro Exhaust system! :spoton:

2much, enough with the tuner pimping already, its getting old. This thread is about Jasons efforts.

Edit: Remembering that I'm a Nizpro customer myself.

Hi Spruce,

I hear you but Jason efforts are being hindered by his "BITSA" Exhaust!"

Sorry ... just stating facts :w00t2:

.....I joined this site cause I was told it was a forum for xr6t enthusiest, no a "my d@#k is bigger then yours". Everyone is learning from others experiences but there is no reason to be harsh about it.

:spit:

Geez, just to imagine what the car would be capable of with a proper exhaust :spit:

The system is similar to any single system, with a 3.5" dump pipe flaring to a 4" inlet/outlet Ballistic 5" body cat, merging back to 3.5" single system with 2 mufflers.

I'm sure your comments Just-in :spit: are probably not appreciated by Simon from Nizpro, and do Nizpro a real disservice. The only comment Simon has said about my ability is positive, as per his comment in this post

http://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/index.ph...ndpost&p=458251

Take it up with Simon if you disagree. In the mean time if you can do better, here's the perfect opportunity to show your ability.
