No worries LUKE, Al, Allan whatever :sharon:

Well if you are keen on getting your hands dirty (thinks to himself for a second, and realise that LUKE gets his hands dirty pretty much every day), but anyway, might take yo up on the offer, as I am getting a bit tight for time to do what I had hoped to achieve before Christmas :idunno:

The project have started :spoton:

Today I pulled the 4 speed trans out of my car, and began making the changes required to the engine, such as re-arranged water piping and hoses to have both the FPV oil cooler and the ZF trans cooler connected to the engine cooling system, also removed the trans oil cooler lines, and fitted the 2nd knock sensor.

I have had to make a custom bracket for the trans cooler, as a BA does not have the required mounting holes in the sump for the original trans cooler bracket, but as there are spare holes in the block just above where it fits, this was not too difficult.

Tomorrow I have to fit the BF engine wiring harness, after modifying it to fit the Nizpro kit, and then hopefully there will also be time to get the ZF fitted to the car.

A bit of work, but smooth sailing so far :blink:

Good luck with it Ninka! I will be reading about your progress with much interest.

Did you read the recent thread where Julian (Buffoon) tried to fit APS exhaust from his old BA Typhoon to his new BF 'Phoon - said the floorpan was different and it wouldn't fit?

I did read that thread, but I do not see any difference from the quick look I have had on BF's so far, and in fact, Simon from Xtreme Ford Tuning confirmed that he is fitting the same exhausts to the BF as he is to the BA, and have had no problems

I really don't believe that Ford would change the most expensive piece of sheet metal in the car, just to do an upgrade from BA to BF.

There are differences on some of the bracing and the tail shaft centre bearing is different, but all things which are managable so far :spoton:
