The progression comes from their ingenious rear shock and progressive spring set-up. Your comment on this would indicate that you have never ridden one. What you do get is WP suspension, decent bars, decent std exhaust system, quality chain and quality components you'd pay extra for on Jap bikes.Maybe you got your 20-30% figure from resale where a KTM will generally sell for about 20% more than a Jap bike, easily offsetting the buy price.KTM riders have taken out just about every enduro title all over the world in the last 3 years. Not bad from a small producer. But, all of that aside, dirtbike riding is a skill sport. Unlike cars, only the best riders are able to extract everything out of a standard bike. It makes me laugh to hear guys crapping on about power, weight, etc. Chad Read actually detunes his bike to race it as he finds it too peaky from the factory, the Recent 4 day enduro was won ourtight on a 250cc 4 stroke, and Shane Watts won a World 6 day enduro outright on a 125cc.Also, unlike cars, there are no bad bikes out there from the main players, you simply can't go wrong, even if you buy a bike by colour. If you ride for fun, then pick the bike you like and have fun on it. If you want to race, pick something that you can be competetive on, and something you feel comportable on, if that's something smaller that doesn't wear you out then pick that. The dick size, V8, bigger better thing just doesn't apply in dirt bikes.←disco has been there and done that on all most all bikes, believe me he knows his stuff. I have ridden ktm's (almost every model)and so far I have only liked and felt comfortable on two of them, one had 4.5 k of steering mods and different cams, the oter was a works 200exc. You are right though , ride it, if u like it buy it. I challenge any one to ride my gas gas faster than you would do by just jumping on any other bike. Ride it against the clock not by your arse-o-meter either, they feel much slower than the kato but I assure u they arnt. By the way the GG 300 is touted to be the best enduro bike in the world atm. That said, the GGs are dearer again, and they don't tend to have the resale. One of my mates raved about his cr450, but I just couldn't get comfortable on it. Ithink I'll be switching to a 250f next bike and will definatly look at all available. Like I said, there's no bad bikes out there, and plenty to choose from. I agree totally about the reliability of the Yamaha, never had any dramas with mine. How many k's has your WR got on it & where abouts are you? Sneezing was a fun experience :3some:) so I can sympathise with you. It's good to see it hasn't fazed you and you're already thinking of the next bike even before you've healed. I'm currently getting over a back injury and the doc told me no riding for a year after th op so I'm counting the days till I can go again (end of this month should do it).Keep on roostin.
