Generally I dont mind using the key to unlock/lock the hardcover but I got thinking about the idea of a remote lock and how best to implement it.

I came up with the idea of using those really strong electro magnetic locks. If we bolt one on each side of the tub then place a lump of metal on the door itself.....

:bum: doh. bet itd suck the car battery dry in a matter of days.

back to the drawing board.

i just wish mine opened more and didnt have 2 be pushed down to lock it

Adjust the tabs on the tub they have slots in them....

There is a thread further down in this section somewhere of a company that WAS looking at manufacturing these....never heard much else about it.

Instead of using electromagnets how about two central locking solenoids fitted side ways that push a rod though a eyelet attached to your hard cover. could use a sedan fob an unlock with the boot release and only uses power when activated.
