What experience have you guys had with long distance driving with your "normal" edit map, or a specific economy map?

Be safe to drive for 1600km+ on an edited map?

I spose worse case senario, flash it back to stock for the long haul trips right?

Done correctly, your edit tune(s) should have absolutely no issues with that whatsoever. As long as you're running the fuel it was tuned for you'll be completely safe on a proper tune.

I've done over 26,000kms now, edited since 11,800kms. Bought the car last December. Zero tune probs.

In fact, the ONLY probs I've had is the diff bush flogging out :spoton:

Mate, a few weeks a go I went down south to Pemberton.

About an 1100km round trip.

The ute cruised on 120kph all the way, and it's up and down country..

Returned exactly 11.0L/100km on the trip. Reset it as I left the house.

I ran around for the rest of the week, then did 20 laps of Wanneroo. The trip went up to and average over 1500km to 13.2L/100

This was a 'normal map, Not an economy one..

Sorry, was talking about an Custom Tune, Ive got my baby booked in next week to see KPM in adelaide

Cant wait!! I think to be on the safe side, ill reflash it to standard just for peace of mind.

F6 Ute, you said an average of 120 rendered around 11L /100, im guessing yours is a BA 5speed? WIth the cruise control set at 120, I see closer to 8-10L/100 with the 6auto.

Cheers guys!! Thanks for your imput, the lowering springs go on this afternoon, and EDIT on the 21st !!!! MUH AHAHHAHAHAH

he's got a 6sp manual.. I see around 11 on up and down hilly roads, which from his despcription is what he drove on.. normal flat freeways I see around 9-10. and that's with giving it the odd over taking squirt :pinch:

Ive noticed that my car has gone down from 16.5l/100km average on DTE to 13.9l/100km from a 200k km drive on freeway. Though I did reset the thing a week before I did this. I think inst average on the freeway was 9-10l/100km on my BF 6 speed manual with stock tune :tease:
