I have just read the last 12 pages looking for "data logger" as I heard from a technican who work at a central NSW dealership Ford have now got a data logger in the software of the ecm. this data logger records the last 300 hours of vehicle use & abuse. after 300 hours it then overwrites itself for another 300. can anyone confirm any truth to this?? His response was no they can't do it. the ecu can be logged in real time, but does not store info that can be read later on.

I know that FoMoCo regional service managers have another tool that dealers dont have access to but as far as I know this '300 hour' isnt part of it, from what I know its only checks PCM reflash history... could be other things, but the '300' hours would have to be part of the PCM programming not the diagnostic tool, and im sure if there was such a thing dealers would have access to it as it would aid diagnosis...
