A friend of mine today got his car serviced and has had an ongoing problem with his oil consumption, the service department put a logger onto the ford ecu and a code came up that is no verified by ford. and once his car came out of service, had a BIG FAT STICKER ON WINDSCREEN saying warranty has been voided.

I'd like more information on this.

I've seen a WDS/PDS hooked to my ute with edit numerous times and they function together perfectly and no strange 'not verified by ford' codes came up.

I bet he has a BF

also under consumer law, they CANNOT void the car entire warranty.

Ford have to prove that the Edit was a direct cause of the breakage.

The problem is Ford like to bluff us and then make us go legal to prove them wrong.

the edit displays a certain code (not sure what it is) and if the dealer susspects anything and calls Ford they can then inform the dealer if it has been edited, BA or not

I think your referring to the 2105 code (I think that's it).

Some edited cars have been known to show that, not all though. Mine doesn't.

I agree Mal, but they make it a little harder for themselves, as it even says in the owners manual, that warranty will only be voided if the mod is a direct cause.

that was told to me by a ford tech, most dealers dont know what it is or even to look for it, but if they find it and are a bit sus about things, all it takes is a call to Ford and they will find out
