A twin turbo xr6 would be wicked, something for FPV though. That guy on the forum is either full of s#*t though or his boss is telling him porky pies.

I for one would rather not do it Craig, there's no point in spreading a rumour further than it already has.

In a nutshell somebodies claiming they made a prototype for an upcoming model.

currently at .4bar (6psi), the turbo is on holidays !!!! B)

as for cylinders 1 and 6 starving .... good grief !!!

twin turbo's are for Vs & opposed donks and maybe for 2 stage high rpm racers

actually I think the n/a XR6 is real ripper to start off with ... more go than the old old XR8

(oops ... did I say that ... soorrrrryyyy  )

Although the idea of a twin turbo on a inline 6 might sound silly it works well if you size the turbo's right. You could get the same outright power as the current XR6T with boost coming in earlier than the current single. The twin turbo's would be smaller and lighter so quicker to spin up to make boost, although you need the air flow to do it. the 4litre engine has the air flow to do it. If you have doubts that twin turbos being able to work. have a look at a Nissan skyline GTR and Toyota Supra. both these are twins and the nissan is a 2.5litre straight 6 and the toyota is a 3.0 litre. when chasing huge power they change to a massive single turbo but till then the twins work well.

I don't think we will be looking at making the T a twin as we have spendt heaps developing a single. there is no way they will now change it after one model run. now way known!

if any of youse read zoom religiously, I think street tuna had something to do with a twin turbo xg xr6 ute. it went very well and was extremely smooth and driveable. im going to my archives now and gonna try and dig it out!

agree with harasn, ford has just pumped $$$$$$ into a single system, strongly doubt a twin is on the horizon. but stranger things have happened....
