What's RRP on a BF Turbs optioned....about $50K

Got trade of around $30K 12 months later.

I'd say you'll lose $20K in year one, with $15K of that in the first 6 months.

Probs $5K the year after that.

If you get employee pricing your residual value will probably be ahead of the trade in.....just.

It's all too depressing but if you love the T / Phoon and plan to keep it a few years then maybe it's worth it and satisfies us enough to go what the heck.

The extra price you pay for something new! :stirthepot:

You can easily lose 50% of the price you paid after 2 years.

Remember you have the base price, GST, extras you purchase, plus on road costs.

Fords are very bad in the depreciation stakes.

Rate of depreciation slows after 3 years.

The Red Book average is that a T retains 47% after 3 years and a Phoon 56%. Both ute versions are a little better still.

As far as just lumping this on Fords, the Phoons rate better than the HSVs and the Ts about line ball with SS.

Go outside of the Falcadores and resale is much better, unless your silly enough to buy a Jaguar. The old man nearly purchased one for 190k a few years ago, until he saw the same model 2nd hand in the yard for 95k!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Despite what you buy, you need to keep the car for a minimum of 2 years, ideally 3-4, in order to let the actual value catch up with the depreciation

Totally agree. First 18 months in particular makes you want to vomit.

Am I the only one here that didn't draw up an excel spreadsheet when I bought my car?

I bought the phoon 'cos frankly, I couldn't help but pop a massive boner when thinking about it (you can quote me on that), and I could afford the deal. My brother was the same when he bought his BF GT. He loved they way they looked, loved the way they sounded, and could afford the deal.

Now excuse me while I go cook up some more lentils...
