Guest Guests Posted 02/11/06 10:43 AM Share Posted 02/11/06 10:43 AM Leave the tuning to the guys who know what they are doing who have the right equipment and experience. If the car is not running right or is not performing as well as what you would like then take it to the experts. This is a bit big worry yes, but I think Tuners with the skills of Simon can put together classes to educate the fiddles. I think this is a product that the seller must sell only to a customer after a serious talking to, funny isn't it this product rassies more questions than it answers.Im a fan of classes for buyers, tuners very well maybe selling guns to children, time will tell. If or when this product becomes available tuner's/supplier's will need to clearly state that once sold there is no recourse against themselfs. Here's a functionality question.CAPA/SCT, when the *beep* are we going to see support for the ZF 6-speeds? With over 80% of the BF Turbo's being auto's, it's about time support is offered.Frankly, until the ZF support is released for the SCT V2.9 and V3.0 software, I really doubt the ability of CAPA/SCT to support any other product they release ←as you know, the ZF trans has its ECU mounted inside the trans itself. From what I understand, they have to develop a flasher unit for the trans. You can however, make the ZF shift firmer by telling it the cars producing more torque but yes, you dont have the control over it like you do with the 4 speed, as that's controlled by the pcm..d. I'd like the ability to alter the shift/lock schedule to lower my shift points. As this cannot be done yet it's one of the reasons I shift manually when giving the car a hard time/racing. I have done the full seminar with Simon and Dave at Nizpro. I been tuning with VCM and halltech and xede for a while. I understand how to tune BUT, learning the SCT software is hard. I not stupid, but intially I had alot of dificaulty driving the software. I am not going to bulls..t. After spending weeks solid dyno tuning my car and others.I am now very confident, but for the average person WHY WHY WHY cant you just let it be? Maybe there are some guys ot there that are geniuses. Well and good. I dont think a short corse would help the layman. Its just too intricate and its been said time again on this thread by people in the know. Minor changes can be catstrophic. When it all goes bad you wont have a choice but to point to yourself. that's just my opinion.Cheers

I guess I'm plain lucky.Simon, if you have the new CAPA software on display at your dyno day I'll make an effort to head over for the day to check it out, if that's ok. No Disrespect taken at all thanks for your advice. Got an Email form SCT last night, after I welcomed them to come onto our site here and educate us all about this product. They don't wish at this time to do this, however they will answer any questions that I email to them. So put your heads together guys and give me some good questions, the truth gets closer........Please start forwarding questions. Ask them to post their user manual for the xcal2. They should have a doc being drafted to explain how it all works; would be great if we could read it.
