Curiosity is getting to me...

How much weight could you take off an XR6t or/and F6 typhoon? what would give you the biggest weight saving? would it translate into a big performance increase, Eg: how much kilos do you need to loose before you can see a good increase.

How much do the rear seats weigh? Exhaust? Engine ?

This is one for thoses that know the weight of each part of the car I think ?

I took the back seat, spare tyre, misc interior bits and my 2 10" subs out on the weekend, all its done is made 2nd gear wheel spin when it hits boost like 1st used to. as for first now, well unless your just after a smoke show you just dont bother :fool:

anyway, my point is that those 3 things made a BIG difference. need to keep in mind though that my subs in there box would weigh close to 30kgs :fool:

MG

But if left in the carbon fibre look would also point out to every1 else that I am a gay rice boy and should be driving a lancer.

Wanna save weight, pull the interior out, carpet and everything, door cards ect. add a light weight drivers seat, ect ect. It all depemds on how far your willing to take it.

Get the lightest wheels you can afford.

Saving eg 10kg on the wheels is reckoned to be the equal to at least 30kg off the body.

How much you want to spend making a big-ass car lighter?

Or do you mean just by getting rid of bits?

You could replace the rear electric window regs with manual ones from XT/XR6 n/a. Wouldn't save a lot of weight but every little bit helps I guess.

Im guessing 30-35kg removed will save you 0.1s off the quarter.

At the end of the day effort spent on increasing power FAR outweighs effort on reducing weight which I think is a waste if your car is a daily driver.
